Cindy Stuart is currently the elected School Board Member for District 3 serving students and constituents in the Northwest section of Hillsborough County. Mrs. Stuart is one of seven members responsible for making policy decisions and overseeing a total budget of $2.9 billion for the 7th largest school district in the nation, which is also the county's largest employer with more than 26,000 employees.

Cindy is a Tampa native with a passion for education. She is a proud graduate of A.P. Leto High School and put herself through college to become the first person in her family to be a university graduate, earning a Management Information Systems Degree with a focus on programming from Florida International University in Miami. Her three children are products of the Hillsborough County school system, where she’s been an active volunteer and advocate for our students, teachers and schools for more than a decade.

Cindy’s dedication to Hillsborough Schools began with her children’s enrollment. She knew successful students begin with engaged parents so she joined the Lake Magdalene PTA, where she served its Executive Board for seven years, becoming its president in 2010. She also served as treasurer for the Buchanan Middle School PTSA, where her devotion earned her a nomination as the Volunteer of the Year in 2009. In 2012, the HCA named her its Guidance Advocate of the Year.

In addition to leading on the School Board, Cindy serves on the Metropolitan Planning Organization, Glazer’s Children’s Museum, Juvenile Justice Board, Value Adjustments Board, SERVE and Florida School Boards Association (alternate). She continues her volunteer work with Metropolitan Ministries, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and participates in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk to Cure Breast Cancer. She is also a coordinator for her neighborhood watch.

Cindy lives in the Lake Magdalene area with her three children
