MaryBeth Williams, Executive Director, Friends of the Riverwalk

MaryBeth Williams has been executive director of Friends of the Riverwalk since December 2019. In that role, MaryBeth has worked in partnership with the City of Tampa to develop, activate and promote Tampa's downtown waterfront, connecting riverfront parks, businesses, museums, and attractions. She has led Friends of the Riverwalk through the pandemic, boat parades, a Halloween scavenger hunt, and many other special events.

Prior to her current position, MaryBeth served for four years as senior director of leadership programs for the Tampa Bay Chamber. MaryBeth previously worked for the Pinellas County School system for nearly 15 years, serving as a mathematics teacher and then as an assistant principal for almost six years. MaryBeth's passion for making a difference in the community has guided her career.

MaryBeth is married to Mark, an electrical engineer, and they have two adult sons, Drew and Zack, and several pets.

MaryBeth has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, from the University of Florida and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of South Florida.
