Paul Grove WEDU President & CEO

Paul Grove has 36 years in media, including a decade in commercial news at NBC, ABC, and The Discovery Channel then finding his passion for public media.
Paul returned as President and CEO to WEDU PBSA last June, following 13 years as CEO of Chattanooga’s PBS station. In addition, Paul became the youngest chair of the Tennessee Public Television Council, where he led the statewide launch of public television initiative of Tennessee PBS Learning Media. A free distancing learning service that offers classroom-ready digital resources tied to state and national standards pioneered nearly two decades ago.
This lead to At-Home Learning with an updated on-air schedule of educational programming segmented by grade level, and having a robust collection of online educational resources. This has been critical to the success of distance learning today as the coronavirus forced distance learning.
Under Paul’s leadership WEDU is currently working toward a number of ambitious projects and initiatives, with an emphasis on education of public safety, including a statewide emergency messaging network.
Grove is also focusing on WEDU resources and cutting edge technology managing WEDU’s six digital streams and creating hyperlocal storytelling, a concept that utilizes digital short films online and on air with interactive components.
Graduating from University of Florida in Broadcast Journalism and Telecommunications, Paul is an avid sports fans and is looking forward to a new ear with Tom Brady leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Paul is married to his lovely wife Michelle and they are proud parents of four sons: Daniel who has just returned from the Navy, Riley who is starting his freshman year at Paul’s arch rival, Florida State, and his two youngest sons Michael and Cooper are both attending Plant high school.
